People say Sundays are for rest. I’ve had many a Sunday where I’ve done just that. Although it’s nice to curl up with a good book, or be contemplative, meditative, or heck, even vegetative for a couple of hours, there’s only so many of those types of Sundays I can have before I end up having a Sunday that’s just action packed from dawn to dusk of to-do items—things I can’t put off any longer or decided to get a jump on for the following week.
Like today…I:
- Finished & filed taxes for 2011
- Went grocery shopping
- Picked up a laundry basket
- Filled up gas
- Cleaned the kitty litter
- Took out several loads of trash
- Vacuumed
- Did 6 loads of laundry & folded said laundry
- Changed the bedsheets and pillowcases
- Aired out the place
- Marinaded 2 batches of chicken breasts
- Made turkey/beef meatballs
- Peeled, de-veined and cooked shrimp (blech) to add to the salad for tomorrow’s lunch
- Baked the chicken breasts & meatballs
- Made tomato sauce from scratch
- Cleaned the kitchen after the cooking frenzy!
- Paid the bills
- Culled out my old, ratty, no longer fitting workout gear
- And finally…decided to update the blog with today’s activities 🙂
Whew. That’s a lot of stuff done. Sadly though, it’s only the tip of the iceberg. Isn’t that always the truth with most of us? Lol. At least now I’ve got some breathing space for a few more upcoming lazy Sundays. 😀
